Two Artists stuck in the MUD! Two differing Approaches
Well in my book heres what you do.
You cut your losses and you pay for a random tow and “pull off service”. I was soooo! close to the Tanbark Ridge Overlook and only 10 feet from the parkway road.
This is what “I” did. I simply dialed a local service called Jason Justice from Allegiant Towing and Recovery; dropped a google maps “pin” and was saved.
Once out of my jam I preceded down the park way and…..
I found David Huff and two arborists named Stephen and Will. The arborists managed a 30 year old Asheville company named Appalachian Arborists (Tree and Forest Professionals). Huff, also, had put in a call to and was greeting a very nice Supervisory Ranger from the National Park Service called Karol Jones. I was so struck by the whole scene. I was glad I had my Fuji. Jones leant a hand was and was directing traffic….. It was such a large scale production!
After they were successful in removing Huff’s car I was able to capture a great and successful moment. I captioned the moments as follows.
Acclaimed architectural design photographer David Huff celebrates the successful removal of his vehicle from a muddy spot on Jan 26, 2021. (Last photo; Happiest of endings)
Huff’s sticky spot was hard to notice and was along the Blue Ridge Parkway, so very close to where I had previously been stuck. The pair of Arborists were so fast and…
"They know the angles" Huff pointed out. They really made it happen. I am glad they were able to be there as I’m sure Mr Huff was as well.
So…… two differing approaches that achieved the same result. Much like life and art/photography one must be themselves and make choices. Two differing choices are on display here.
Learn your own “ropes” and move.
