Stephen Lange "Tape" Artist

Ultra #prolific #visual artist Stephen Lange @stephenllange in his #studio located in #phil mechanic studios on feb 1st, 2021. What a #brilliant guy! You have seen his paintings all over Asheville in most of the #respectable restaurants and coffees shops. Lange stated “the only thing that prevents me from selling work is me not being in the studio”. What an art beast. Very inspiring. Check his stuff! Also read more from our meeting today over on my FB Seth Combs.  #peace

Stephen Lange’s work has hidden qualities.

I mean this literally and figuratively. In the course of our brief interview i was attempting to make photos of his work. My equipment failed. My flash did not work. Lange had suggested flash to showcase the “buried symbolism” in his painting entitled “The Kiss”.

He then used his cell with flash to illustrate his style of painting.  The cell phone image he produced showed a hidden number “6”.

Lange is a true researching archivist who displays work from family. He uses ,for example, a piece started by his son to allow him to improve and motivate.

I was allowed to photograph a beautiful work by his brother T.J Lange entitled “Soul”. May his rest.

All in all, a very inspired and spiritual experience over at the Phil Mechanic Building | River Arts District Artists in Asheville on Feb. 1st, 2021.

With great thanks to Stephen!!!! I am hoping we can interact again soon.
